Do you thrive on the adrenaline of organising high-impact events? Are you a meticulous planner who believes that lasting community relationships are built through flawless experiences? Let’s meet!

ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT (EVENT) MANAGER

Vlerick Business School is an innovative, top-ranked and sustainable international business school in the heart of Europe. Our purpose is to transform people for a better world! We want being at Vlerick to be a transformative experience where you discover the knowledge, mindset and confidence you need to take your next leap – and become the entrepreneurial leader our world needs.

As part of our close-knit team, you’ll bring our strategy and purpose to life. Are you excited to join our Advancement team as an Alumni Engagement (Event) Manager? Here’s what you need to know!

Your mission

  • Empower volunteer clubs: act as the professional Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for alumni clubs. You represent the school towards alumni club leads and provide the project management expertise they need to ensure their events meet our standards.
  • A-to-Z event orchestration: take total ownership of the alumni event calendar. You lead the entire process: from initial briefing with volunteers to branding, communication, logistics, registration, and post-event follow-up.
  • On-site experience leadership: you act as the "manager on duty" for all alumni events, taking personal pride in ensuring every piece of the puzzle falls perfectly into place for a seamless delivery. You lead the welcome experience at the registration desk and oversee the entire flow of the setup to ensure a warm, professional atmosphere.
  • Platform & tool management: own the technical and administrative side of engagement. You manage registration platforms, invoicing, and database updates, ensuring that the "behind-the-scenes" of the community runs like a well-oiled machine.
  • Build relationships through excellence: you build trust and long-term relationships with our alumni and volunteers by being a reliable, high-performing partner who consistently delivers outstanding event experiences.

You

  • Hold at least a bachelor's degree
  • Have a genuine passion for event management and project coordination. You love the "logistical puzzle" and are energised by seeing an event come to life.
  • Excel at managing multiple projects and structures simultaneously. You are detail-oriented and never lose track of administrative tasks like invoicing and registrations.
  • Believe that a successful event is defined by the warmth of its welcome. You have an instinctive eye for service and hospitality, ensuring that every alumnus feels like a valued guest from the moment they arrive.
  • Have a strong "get things done" mindset. You work autonomously and are ready to be on-site to ensure success, including flexibility for 2–3 evening events per month.
  • Your credibility stems from your competence; you are a reliable partner whom alumni and volunteers can trust to represent the school perfectly.  You communicate clearly and professionally in Dutch and English.

#ProudtobeVlerick

  • Autonomy and responsibility in an engaging work environment.
  • A dynamic, open, and international company culture.
  • Opportunities for professional and personal growth.
  • A team of enthusiastic, driven colleagues, passionate about learning.
  • Flexibility: 30+ holiday days, working from home, a flexible benefits system, etc.
  • Meal vouchers, a hospitalization insurance, a group insurance, and a mobility budget.
  • Having a real impact and inspire people to live, learn and leap!

At Vlerick, openness to the world is part of our DNA. We are continuously working towards being a truly diverse, equitable and inclusive place to work and learn at. So, no matter who you are, where you come from, or what your dreams are, we are looking forward to receiving your application.
