Circus Zonder Handen is the urban circus school of Brussels. Using urban circus as a dynamic, playful, and empowering tool, more than 900 preschoolers, children, youngsters, and adults build self-confidence and discover their talents every year.

Your role in our organisation:
As a Reception and Social Work Officer at Circus Zonder Handen, you are the person closest to our participants and their parents. You are one of the faces of CZH, helping with all administrative questions and also providing a listening ear.You will receive a permanent contract for a 50% position, meaning part-time employment. You will have at least 3 fixed working days and work according to the reception’s opening hours. The exact working days will be decided together. Occasionally working in the evenings does not discourage you.

Your responsibilities:
  •  Staffing the reception desk and warmly welcoming children, youngsters, trainers, and parents 
  •  Keeping the reception area tidy 
  •  Following up registrations for the weekly classes 
  •  Administrative tasks (managing payments, Paspartoe registrations, mailbox and post management, phone calls, co-managing the CRM system, following up unpaid invoices, managing and selling merchandise, office supply management, etc.) 
  •  Offering a listening ear to participants and their parents, and referring them to other services when necessary 
  •  Helping to further develop our inclusion and accessibility policy 
  •  Supporting trainers with tailored circus administration (freelance contracts, helping with volunteer administration, etc.) 
  •  Assisting during events such as the Circus Days, the winter event “CHAUD”, the annual iftar, and more 
  •  Participating in weekly team meetings 
Profile
You are:
  •  Accurate and detail-oriented

  •  Enthusiastic about helping build a place that is open to everyone 
You speak and write fluent French and Dutch, and preferably an additional language that may be relevant to our community.

Depending on your interests and goals, you may also take on other tasks, such as helping organise events, giving workshops, doing school gate outreach, neighbourhood work, following up on family welfare questions, taking on the role of Integrity Contact Person (API), etc. Together, we will explore what suits you best and what you would still like to learn.

Selection procedure
We work with two selection rounds:
  •  The first round will take place on Tuesday 30 June. 
  •  If you pass the first round, we will invite you for a second interview on 7 July. 
If you are abroad, interviews can also take place via video call.
